FAQs

What should I wear to the service and party?
For the synagogue service, please dress modestly and respectfully — think "Sunday best." For the evening party, the dress code is cocktail attire. Come ready to celebrate!
What is a Bat Mitzvah?
A Bat Mitzvah is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony marking a girl's transition into adulthood. "Bat Mitzvah" means "Daughter of the Commandment" in Hebrew. During the service, Jessa will lead prayers, chant from the Torah, and deliver a speech about her community service project.
I've been invited to the Friday evening service — do I have to attend?
Not at all! The Friday evening service is an intimate gathering exclusively for invited family and out-of-town guests. It's completely optional, but you're warmly welcomed if you can make it.
Do men need to wear a head covering at the service?
Yes. Kippot (yarmulkes) are required for all male guests inside the sanctuary. No need to bring one — they'll be provided at the entrance.
Can I take photos or use my phone during the service?
No. The synagogue observes a strict no-electronics policy on Shabbat. No phones, tablets, cameras, or recording of any kind during either service. Medical devices are an exception. Plenty of photo opportunities at the party!
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to venue capacity, we kindly ask that you adhere to the names listed on your invitation. Please contact us directly for any special considerations.
What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?
Please indicate your dietary needs when you RSVP or reach out to us directly so we can accommodate your requirements.
